My rates are pretty straightforward and are meant to help you meet your goals. Commitment over a long period of time is crucial and will allow you to speak French more easily and also to remember what you’ve learned long after.
Please contact me and click here if you need additional information.
First session free :
This first 30-minute session consists of needs assessment, sample class materials, goal clarification and “getting to know you” conversations, and can be in person or by phone or Skype.
If you wish to continue after our initial free session, I do ask that you pay for 8 classes in advance for 2 reasons: I invest my time in preparing your classes and you’re more likely to keep studying if you also make some investment in the process.
Private Tutoring:
2018 rates: $300 for 8 hours for one person payable in advance.
If you are a couple with the same level of French: $400 for 8 hours payable in advance.
In general, I provide individual tutoring starting with 1 or 2 hours/week once or twice a week for beginners, 2 hours for intermediate and advanced, and up to 6 hours in a week for exams preparation.
Over the years, my clients have been happy with the rates and the quality of my teaching. I have tried-and-tested methods.** See my Recommendations as the best proof of that success.
Small classes :
To study in my small French classes in Victoria, you’ll need to gather a group of at least four friends or colleagues.  Each session will be 1,5 hours and we’ll study for a minimum of eight weekly sessions. The cost is $140 per participant, paid on the first night.  We will meet downtown Victoria.
If you can’t gather a group to study with you, you can also check out collective classes and see if you can join my French level 1, 2, and 3, French for travellers classes at Camosun College continuing education in the evening and my Beginners classes and Intermediate Conversation classes at Monterey Recreation centre in Oak bay during the day.
Location
All individual tutoring is located in downtown Victoria, either at my place or in a coffee shop; 1/3 of my students prefer virtual sessions via Skype and I’m happy to accommodate them in this way too.
Occasionally, a student is not able to or chooses not to take classes, that they have paid for.  Sorry, there are no refunds and, except in unusual circumstances, one year after payment any unused classes are forfeited.
